Closing Glance: Construction, engineering stocks end higher
NEW YORK—Shares of construction and engineering companies finished lower Thursday as the broader markets climbed thanks to better-than-expected April retail sales and fewer last-week unemployment benefit applications.
Meanwhile, the sector also got a boost after Perini Corp. posted a better-than-expected first-quarter profit late Wednesday.
Here's how some shares of construction and engineering companies closed the session:
Perini, up $3, or 7.7 percent, to $41.91.
Fluor Corp., up $6.57, or 4 percent, to $166.81.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., up 49 cents to $88.07.
KBR Inc., up 23 cents to $32.71.![]()
