Peoples Bancorp appoints Sloane as CFO effective May 21

MARIETTA, Ohio—Financial services company Peoples Bancorp Inc. said Thursday it appointed Edward G. Sloane as its new chief financial officer and treasurer, effective May 21.

Sloane, 47, will also serve as CFO and treasurer of the company's subsidiary, Peoples Bank, N.A., the company said.

Sloane previously served as senior vice president of strategic planning and analysis for WesBanco Inc.

Sloane succeeds Carol A. Schneeberger, who served in the position since April 2007 while also maintaining her duties as executive vice president of operations, Peoples Bancorp said.

Peoples Bancorp shares rose 29 cents to close at $23.32.
