Coleman Cable expects 2Q profit in range of forecasts

WAUKEGAN, Ill.—Electrical wire manufacturer Coleman Cable Inc. said Thursday it expects fiscal second-quarter earnings in the range of analyst expectations.

It forecast earnings per share in the range of 15 cents per share to 24 cents per share on sales of $245 million to $255 million.

Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect profit of 22 cents per share on sales of $254.5 million.

The company said its new Midwest distribution center in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., which it opened in April, should improve efficiency and reduce costs.
