NEW YORK—Shares of utility companies finished mixed Monday as the price of crude oil seesawed in choppy trading.
Light, sweet crude for July delivery fell 25 cents to settle at $134.61 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after earlier soaring to a trading record of $139.89. Earlier, they dropped as low as $132.84.
Here is how some utilities fared:
American Electric Power Co. Inc., up 18 cents to $42.97
Pepco Holdings Inc., down 18 cents at $26.52
Consolidated Edison Inc., down 6 cents at $40.30
Southern Co., up 19 cents to $35.28![]()
