ATLANTA—The board of Coca-Cola Co. elected Alex Cummings as executive vice president and David Taggart as senior vice president, the soft drink maker said Thursday.
The world's biggest beverage company -- with brands such as Fanta, Dasani and Vitaminwater -- said the election of Taggart, who currently serves as the company's treasurer, is immediate.
The election of Cummings -- Coca-Cola's chief administrative officer -- becomes effective Oct. 15 once he moves to the U.S.
Cummings oversees the Atlanta-based company's legal matters, public affairs, human resources, information technology, and research and innovation. He joined the company in 1997 and has previously been president of the Africa group.
Taggart is responsible for worldwide treasury operations, which includes managing the company's hedging and risk programs for foreign currency, commodity and interest rates. He has been with the company for 28 years.
Shares of Coca-Cola fell $1.92, or 3.7 percent, to $50.41 in afternoon trading.![]()
