Nash Finch 2Q profit rises 5 percent
MINNEAPOLIS --Food distributor Nash Finch Co. said Thursday its second-quarter profit rose 5 percent as sales in its military distribution rose, helping to offset the negative impact from the loss of a large customer midyear.
Nash Finch earned $10.1 million, or 77 cents a share, in the quarter ended June 14, up from $9.6 million, or 70 cents a share, in the same quarter a year ago.
Revenue fell 2 percent to $1.04 billion from $1.06 billion a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Financial expected quarterly earnings per share of 76 cents on revenue of $1.04 billion.
Sales in the company's military unit rose 5 percent, the company said. ![]()
