Procter & Gamble spent over $1.1M lobbying in 2Q

-- The Procter & Gamble Co. spent more than $1.1 million in the second quarter to lobby on trade, foreign policy and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.

The Cincinnati, Ohio-based consumer products company lobbied the federal government on legislation involving U.S. policy involving Latin America, China and Russia.

The maker of Tide detergent, Olay skin care and Pampers diapers also lobbied on climate change, food safety, patent reform, advertising, health care and other issues.

In the April-June period, Procter & Gamble lobbied Congress, the Executive Office of the President, and the departments of Treasury, Commerce and Homeland Security.

Other agencies the company lobbied included: the U.S. Trade Representative, Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency and more according to the report filed July 22 with the House clerk's office.
