Best Buy Co. releases third-quarter results. Analysts look for net income of 25 cents a share, compared with 53 cents a share a year before.

Goldman Sachs Group is expected to report a fourth-quarter loss of $3.50 a share, versus year-ago net income of $7.01 a share.

OPEC oil ministers meet amid signals the cartel plans to cut output quotas in effort to stem the slide in oil prices.

THURSDAY

The Conference Board releases leading indicators for November. The index probably fell 0.4 percent in November.
