11 Benjamin Franklin branches closed for day
Rockland Trust plans to change the signs this weekend at 11 branches of Benjamin Franklin Bank, which it acquired last month, and reopen the offices under its own banner on Monday.
The Benjamin Franklin branches that will be closed today for the changeover, are located in Bellingham, Foxborough, Franklin, Medfield, Milford, Newton, Waltham, Watertown, and Wellesley.
Rockland Trust is a unit of Independent Bank Corp., which is based in Rockland.
Independent Bank purchased Benjamin Franklin Bank's parent company, Benjamin Franklin Bancorp Inc., for about $84.5 million in April.
With the completing of the merger, Rockland Trust has 71 retail branches, 10 commercial lending centers, and two mortgage banking centers in Eastern Massachusetts. ![]()
