The Newton-based travel-review website TripAdvisor.com has purchased the Chinese site Kuxun.cn, the company said. This is its second endeavor in China this year.

Kuxun, which helps consumers find deals on hotels, flights, and train travel in China, is the country’s second-largest travel site, according to TripAdvisor, which is part of Expedia.

In April, TripAdvisor launched DaoDao.com, a review site for Chinese travelers that has become one of the country’ top 10 online travel enterprises, said TripAdvisor chief executive Steve Kaufer. TripAdvisor has expanded to 15 countries, he said, but China has the biggest potential for growth.

“When there are literally a billion people in the country, and there’s enough disposable income, it’s a tremendous amount of pent-up travel demand to see the wonders of their own country,’’ Kaufer said.
