In May 2001, Mark Shirman and Richard Scannell went to see Bob Davoli with a business idea. They met Davoli, a managing director at Sigma Partners, in the venture capital firm’s downtown Boston office. Their idea was to start a professional services firm, GlassHouse Technologies Inc., that would help big corporate customers evaluate and manage their data storage needs. (Full article: 1230 words)
