The Boston law firm Bingham McCutchen is striking back in its dispute with LA Dodgers owner and real estate investor Frank McCourt, who is going through a contentious divorce.

Bingham yesterday filed a lawsuit in Superior Court in Massachusetts, seeking a declaration that the services Bingham provided to McCourt, relating to a 2004 marital property agreement between him and Jamie McCourt met Bingham’s obligations to its clients and did not cause McCourt a loss.

The McCourts and their lawyers have accused Bingham of errors in legal documents that have added to their battle over ownership of the baseball team. They have threatened legal action against the firm.
