BEIJING—China's popular Sina web portal has created a tribute page to Steve Jobs with a banner that reads: "To live is to change the world."

The website is gathering comments from its microblog service, Weibo, where many people Thursday were posting photos and video of Jobs and flickering candle icons.

Former Google and Microsoft executive, Li Kaifu, pasted a photograph of a rainbow near Apple headquarters that a friend sent him.

"I think God made this specially for Jobs," Li wrote.
