BURLINGTON, Mass.—Business software company ClickSoftware Technologies Ltd. said Monday that its third-quarter net income rose 93 percent, helped by higher software license and services revenue.
The company earned $4.5 million, or 14 cents per share, up from $2.3 million, or 7 cents per share, in the same period a year earlier.
Adjusted earnings were 17 cents per share in the latest quarter, up from 9 cents per share a year earlier.
Revenue grew 33 percent to $23.2 million from $17.5 million.
Analysts, on average, were expecting earnings of 13 cents per share on revenue of $22.6 million, according to a poll by FactSet.
ClickSoftware reaffirmed its 2011 revenue guidance of $85 million to $87 million.
The company said it was especially pleased with demand for new releases of its "enterprise mobility" products, business applications for mobile phones and tablet computers.
Shares climbed 8 cents to $9.92 in early afternoon trading.
