TEWKSBURY, Mass.—Raytheon Co. said Wednesday that it received U.S. Congressional and State Department approval for a $1.7 billion contract to upgrade Saudi Arabia's Patriot air and missile defense system.
The contract was announced earlier this year, but Raytheon needed government approval because it involved weapons.
The Waltham, Mass., defense contractor will provide ground-system hardware, training, equipment upgrades and capabilities to support potential military operations.![]()
