Troubled clothier Talbots Inc. is slashing another 100 jobs at its Hingham headquarters, abruptly suspending its national advertising campaign in the middle of the holiday season, and reportedly looking for a new chief executive after years of a failed turnaround. The company, known for its classic tailored looks, disclosed this $50 million cost-cutting effort yesterday after reporting another disappointing round of results. Shares of Talbots tumbled 18.6 percent to close at $1.62 yesterday.
