GM not ready to restart Cruze car production in OH
LORDSTOWN, Ohio—General Motors Co. says its plant in northeast Ohio that makes the Chevrolet Cruze compact car is not ready to restart production after all.
Work was halted Monday night at the complex in Lordstown, near Youngstown, because of what was described as a supplier issue.
GM said early Thursday that production would begin again with the third shift late Thursday night. However, automaker said at late morning that the startup has been postponed. It didn't say until when.
Employees are to ignore an earlier announcement that they report for their Friday shifts.
The Lordstown complex includes production and stamping plants. About 4,500 people work there.
