Caterpillar sales jump 30 percent in November
PEORIA, Ill.—Caterpillar Inc. said Monday that its global heavy equipment sales rose 30 percent in November, led by growth in North America.
The 30 percent increase in global sales was on par with the growth seen over the prior two months. Sales grew 31 percent in both October and September.
Caterpillar's sales figures are watched closely because they are considered an indicator of the health of the global economy.
The world's largest maker of mining and construction equipment said sales in North America led the way last month. They were up 41 percent. Sales growth was also strong in Asia and the company's Europe, Africa and the Middle East region.
Sales grew 8 percent in Latin America, a sharp slowdown from 16 percent growth in October and 33 percent growth in September.![]()
