Kayak load of dough and Ajax
Source: Mass High Tech
Speaking of Ajax, Norwalk, Conn.-based travel search engine Kayak.com just closed on $11.5 million, raising its total funding to $30 million. The two-year-old company plans to do a full on marketing push and expand into Europe. Kayak was used as an example of Ajax in action by Wired Magazine who just gave Ajax this year's Tech Rave Award. Kayak uses Ajax to add each of your matching flights to the screen the instant it’s found. No more waiting in suspense while the site searches every airline on Earth while you watch an animated wait screen.
