Jason Calacanis says the real story of Web 2.0 is the growth of online ad revenue. Take a look at the latest chart from the Internet Advertising Bureau. This is why online ad models work now.

Paul Kedrosky remarks that "Q3 2006 ad spending was more than all of 1999 combined, as well as being up 33 percent year-over-year from 2005." He goes on to talk about where those new online dollars are coming from. Some come from an increase in the total pie of ad spending...but some are moving online away from television, radio, and newspaper.
