Video screens have legs

Video screens compete for attention all over the BIO convention center floor -- some touting companies and products, but others flashing vague images that are more atmospheric than substantial -- like Travel channel teases. Soft-sell bio, we guess.

But our favorite use of video is the walking ads -- people who roam the hall with flatscreen monitors strapped to their chests. We were so dazzled by the roaming marketing technique that we didn't actually notice what they were selling.
