How did Biba Beverages get started?
Biba Beverages is a line of all natural sparkling hydration beverages designed for everyday "off the field" hydration issues. It is loaded with electrolytes and vitamins and has no caffeine or preservatives. I [founder David Paquette] came up with the idea for Biba after surviving the Boston Marathon in 85 degree heat. I was severely dehydrated and ended up in the medical tent where I was given an IV of fluids. I felt so good afterwards that I was ready to run home! It really impressed on me the power and value of hydration. At this time the vodka market was just starting to take off and I wondered why there was no product on the market that could be mixed with alcohol and could be as powerful as the hydration effects I had at the marathon, so I decided to make my own. Everyone knows alcohol dehydrates you! I worked with a beverage developer and researched all of our ingredients and came up with a secret blend that not only tasted amazing and light, but was truly functional.

As a full time dentist, I would see patients everyday who were dehydrated from medications, illnesses, travel, and athletics and would give them Biba to help them. This is where I learned that everyday people get dehydrated and are taught to drink "sports drinks" to stay hydrated. So many were drinking Gatorade to recover but didn't like the taste or the size of the bottles, but drank it because of what they had been told. At this point I knew that Biba was not only a powerful mixer for alcohol but was a perfect fit as an everyday drink for "non athletes" to not just recover from everyday dehydration, but to prevent it!

What does Biba Beverages do?
Biba makes a great low calorie beverage for the whole family. Children love it as an alternative to soda, Pedialyte or Gatorade and it has over 100% RDV of Vitamin C. Adults drink Biba before working out and before a night on the town. Even older adults/seniors love Biba as it replaces electrolytes lost from medication, and the Vitamin B12 gives a boost of natural energy. Biba is now sold in over 200 stores in New England, including in Shaw's Supermarkets Wild Harvest section. Biba received a four out of five star rating from BevNet, a Watertown-based beverage publication.

How can our readers be of help?
Our company needs readers to try Biba! We are proud to be in the great stores that we are currently in, and we want readers to support them. We do many sampling events in New England and we have found that once people try our product they truly enjoy it. Come to one of our sampling events or go to Shaw's Wild Harvest section and buy Biba! Tell your friends to try it as well.

We are also looking for investors for our company. We have a solid plan for growth and need supportive investors to help us grow our brand and spread the word about Biba. We can be contacted thorough our website, or through Facebook or Twitter.
