[The We are the Creative Industries series: The Creative Industries - video game companies, design, marketing and architecture firms, and talented people who write books, design houses, shoot movies, make art and record music, just to name a few examples - are an important part of Massachusetts' economy, with $1 billion statewide impact and over 100,000 workers. Another installment in our ongoing series to showcase innovative MassChallenge companies. MassChallenge is the world's largest startup accelerator and the first to support entrepreneurs with no strings attached. Startups can apply to the 2014 MassChallenge summer accelerator from Feb 12 - April 2.

New Art Love, a Boston-based social enterprise, has launched ARTAPP Boston+, the largest gathering of visual arts and more in Greater Boston and beyond. New Art Love’s interactive mobile app empowers art lovers to discover, experience and connect with art and artists they love in new ways. “We intend to make art completely accessible and enjoyable for everyone on the globe”.

ARTAPP Boston+ features the most diverse, comprehensive, and the only customizable listing of art in Massachusetts. The free download connects users to art exhibitions, experiences and events at nonprofit and commercial galleries, museums and artist-run spaces, public and outdoor venues, as well as secret or almost-secret locations.

Every listing on ARTAPP Boston+ is organized into intuitive categories and cross-referenced, allowing people to search by a variety of information, including location, venue, media and origin. Interactive maps make for easy navigation. The app also features current art-related events including films, talks and more and integrates social media that allow people to share their favorite finds.

New Art Love is a social enterprise of ARTMORPHEUS, a nonprofit that supports artists and creative enterprises to develop, flourish and innovate. Conceived in 2012, New Art Love leverages technology to create an ecosystem that provides for inclusive and accessible high quality art experiences. New Art Love connects a diverse range of cultural assets, a wealth of local talent and current art events on a unified platform, making them easily accessible to anyone with a smartphone, tablet or computer.

A MassChallenge Finalist in 2012, New Art Love first created apps to highlight and enhance Open Studios - community based events that invite the public into artists’ studios. These apps helped thousands of art enthusiasts discover new artists, learn about their work, experience art that interested them in person, and re-connect with artists after the events. New Art Love apps have facilitated numerous new contacts and sales for artists in Cambridge, Boston’s South End and Allston communities.

ARTAPP Boston+ is now available to the over eighteen million visitors to Massachusetts every year (even when they leave) and to everyone on the globe with an internet connection. The app will soon be available for download in iTunes and Google Play. For more information, contact New Art Love at team@newartlove.com

Liora Beer is the CEO of New Art Love.
