In December, Mayor Thomas M. Menino proposed to sell the current City Hall and City Hall Plaza to private developers and relocate the seat of city government to the South Boston Waterfront.

One issue the new Boston Redevelopment Authority chief, John Palmieri, will face is what to do about the oft-reviled landmark.

If the proposed changes become a reality, this would be Boston's fourth City Hall.
