A history of Filene's Basement

In fall 2006, Filene's Basement managers cut the ceremonial ribbon at a new Back Bay store. But the original Filene's Basement, in Downtown Crossing, has a different fate. On June 14, the famed Boston retailer made it official: the downtown location will be closed for two years for renovations.
