Making Boston 'awesome' for entrepreneurs
More 'awesome' money
Whose idea? Amanda Peyton.
Who is she? Co-founder of MessageParty, a Web and mobile geoblogging service, with Jason Gavris, shown here. Both studied at MIT.
Boston is a hub for building ideas but there is little way to actually make those ideas reality. In order to correct this there need to be more companies and investors willing to fund start-ups, such as Awesome Foundation, which awards $1,000 to a project they deem to be "awesome."
"Things are starting to change," said Peyton. "But it will require more ubiquitous availability of few-strings-attached, bureaucracy-free cash."
