The college unveiled plans to open a new design and media center with a sleek glass entry pavilion and to overhaul its public galleries which, unbeknownst to many, house the largest, free exhibition of contemporary art in New England. The design center is the third of four stages of expansion. The first was a revamped student union, which is complete; the second is an residence tower under construction; third will be the design center; and fourth will be the professional galleries.
