The 'Lost' Angeles Lakers

Fans around the country were hoping for a revival of the Celtics-Lakers rivalry this month when the two teams met in the NBA finals, but, as Boston fans learned, Phil Jackson's Lakers are nothing like the "Showtime" brand of the past.

Led by a whining, egotistical star and a number of solid, but inexperienced backups, the Lakers couldn't even keep the attention of their own fans; the lights in their home stadium had to be turned off during games to get fans to watch the game instead of the stars sitting in the stands.

Turn out the lights. Showtime's over.
