Lucas Conley's 10 most overrated brands

Oprah

In Oprah Winfrey's hands, even charity can morph into a self-serving spectacle. Callous? Sorry, but did you watch "Oprah's Big Give"? Don't worry, nobody else did either, which is precisely why it was canceled.

Those who did catch the contrived reality show were bombarded with product placements and force-fed Oprah's brand of charity — one in which contestants were kicked off the show if their giving strategy didn't satisfy judges. (Who knew philanthropy came in right and wrong?)

The "Big" failure was one of a series of recent stumbles for the overexposed media queen who boasts a TV network, film company, magazine, and satellite radio channel. Keep up the great charity work behind-the-scenes, but give the rest of us a break.
