This network's halcyon days as a provider of original programming, music videos, and trailblazing reality shows are long over. The creator of the original iconic reality show "The Real World" and host to every great music video debut through the 90s is now an ADD nightmare.

Quick choppy clips have replaced full-length videos, and MTV's "original programming" now amounts to reductive reality crossovers and tasteless dating shows. Last September, the network allowed its Music Video Awards to turn into a Britney Spears train wreck. Bottom line: Video may have killed the radio star ... but MTV may have killed itself.
