Dollar Tree Recalls children's Halloween lanterns
Recalled: Oct. 28, 2010
The Dollar Tree recalled about 682,000 battery-operated Halloween lanterns because the lightbulbs inside can overheat and pose a fire hazzard.
The black, white, and orange lanterns, shaped like skulls, ghosts, and pumpkins, were sold at Dollar Tree and affiliated stores for about $1 starting in August. The company said it got one report of the lamp overheating, and none of injuries.
Consumers should keep the lanterns away from children, remove and discard the batteries, and return the lanterns to the store for a full refund.
