2 million cribs recalled because of entrapment hazard
June 24, 2010
Seven crib manufacturers are recalling a total of more than 2 million cribs because they pose entrapment hazards and other hazards to infants. Most of the cribs are drop-side models with safety problems stemming from the removable side.
A full list of manufacturers and cribs involved is available here. No deaths were linked to the recalled cribs, but at least 250 instances of drop-sides becoming detached were reported, including 16 instances in which an infant became trapped, and one in which an infant was found unconscious and hospitalized.
