Condos, hotels, and 140,000 square feet of office space are not exactly what comes to mind when thinking of the limited decor and sparse crowds at Revere Beach.

But developers and local officials are planning to revamp the historic beachfront. They will break ground in about a year on a $500 million complex on 10 acres adjacent to the Wonderland MBTA stop.
