Upscale Walgreens in Downtown Crossing

Fresh hand-rolled sushi. A juice bar with made-to-order smoothies. A hair and nail salon. It’s certainly not a typical drug store. But these are among the amenities that Walgreens will offer in the former Downtown Crossing Borders space, pictured left, when it debuts a 24,000-square-foot flagship this fall. Here's a look at the massive emporiums the Illinois drug chain has recently opened in New York City and Chicago that the Boston location will be modeled after.
