Kenneth Lay

The former chairman of Enron Corp. was accused of lying about the financial state of the energy company, which filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and became a symbol of corporate malfeasance. Along with fraud and conspiracy charges, Lay was convicted of bank fraud and making false statements to banks related to his personal finances. He died in July 2006 at the age of 64.
