Bernard Ebbers

The former chairman of defunct telecommunications company Worldcom Inc. was sentenced to 25 years in prison for orchestrating an $11 billion scheme that drove his company into bankruptcy in 2002. He was found guilty of conspiracy, securities fraud, and falsifying regulatory filings.
