Sam Waksal
In 2001, ImClone Systems, a company developing cancer treatments, was trying to get Food and Drug Administration approval for its new cancer drug, Erbitux. Allegedly, Sam Waksal, the company's founder and CEO, found out that the drug was going to be rejected and sold his shares before the news became public. He's also accused of tipping off friend Martha Stewart.
He was sentenced to 87 months in prison and fined $3 million for insider trading and fraud.
