The W Boston, a 28-story hotel with 235 rooms and 123 residences, is set to open Oct. 29.

It is the 34th W worldwide, and is expected to be among 50 by the end of 2011.

The hotel is located at 100 Stuart St., a short walk from the Theater District. Its employees, who undergo a 10-day training session complete with W lingo lessons and fake paparazzi, are encouraged to act like the cast of a theatrical production.
