Stepping down: Cambridge-based Curis Inc.'s executive vice president and chief scientific officer, Lee Rubin, will step down as scientific chief as the company shifts strategic focus to later-stage development drugs. Rubin accepted a position at the Harvard University Stem Cell Institute.

Agreement: Braintree-based blood-processing systems company Haemonetics Corp. signed a definitive agreement to buy the remaining outstanding shares of private nanotechnology company Arryx Inc. for $26 million.

Emerged: Curative Health Services Inc. emerged from Chapter 11 proceedings as privately held Critical Care Systems International Inc. The Nashua specialty infusions company eliminated $185 million in bondholder debt in less than 75 days.

Access for poor: One Economy, a nonprofit group that uses technology to upgrade the lives of the poor, said it aims to raise $20 million to provide free access to a yet-to-be-created bilingual website, Public Internet Channel.

Contract: Dynamics Research Corp. of Andover received a contract from the Army worth up to $22 million over five years to support the Army's Training and Doctrine Command Analysis Center in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

Pacific RIM: Research In Motion Ltd. will start selling its Blackberry e-mail device in Japan this year after reaching a distribution agreement with NTT DoCoMo Inc.

Download deal: CBS Corp., which already sells episodes of hit TV shows ``Survivor" and ``CSI" on Google Inc.'s online video store, is now offering the downloads on Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes Music Store.

Sued: Pfizer Inc. was sued in New York by two men who claim the cholesterol drug Lipitor caused memory loss and nerve damage.

On the runway: JetBlue Airways Corp. disclosed plans to move into the highly competitive New York-to-Washington market with six daily nonstop flights between John F. Kennedy Airport, its home base, and Dulles International Airport in Chantilly, Va., just outside Washington, D.C., beginning Aug. 17.
