PC pop: Dell Inc. said its inquiry into one of its laptop PCs that burst on fire in Japan suggests it was an isolated incident and no recall is planned.

No takeoff yet: Delta Air Lines Inc. said it lost $16 million in May. The carrier, which is operating under bankruptcy protection, said in a filing with the court that the loss was 8 cents a share.

Downgrade: Standard & Poor's Ratings Service lowered McClatchy Co.'s credit rating one notch to `BBB' from `BBB+,' a day after the newspaper company completed its acquisition of Knight Ridder Inc. for about $6.1 billion.
