Medical agreement: WebMD Health Corp., operator of the WebMD website, said it agreed with CBS Corp. to provide sponsorship and material for medical and health segments for news shows.

Named: Wilmington-based CardioTech International Inc., a maker of synthetic blood vessels, named Michael Adams chief executive and president.

Fare hikes: United Airlines raised by $5 each way prices on tickets for flights of less than 1,000 miles and $10 for flights of more than 1,000 miles. Continental Airlines Inc., US Airways Group Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc., and Northwest Airlines Corp. all matched the increase on fares purchased seven days or less in advance, airlines representatives said.

SEC request: Video game publisher THQ Inc. said the Securities and Exchange Commission has requested documents and information related to its stock-option grant practices from Jan. 1, 1996, to present.

Hurdle cleared: Petco Animal Supplies Inc. said the regulatory antitrust waiting period affecting the company's $1.8 billion buyout by private investment group Leonard Green & Partners LP and Texas Pacific Group has ended early. The transaction remains subject to stockholder approval.

Stock options: Vonage Holdings Corp., the Internet phone company whose shares have plunged 60 percent since it went public in May, granted 50,000 restricted stock units to new chief executive Michael Snyder and chief financial officer John Rego.

Where the stakes are not named: Elevation Partners, a private equity group that includes rock star Bono (right) , bought a stake in family-held publisher Forbes, becoming the first outsider to invest in its business media properties, Forbes said. Terms were not disclosed.

AMD deal: In another sign of the inroads Advanced Micro Devices Inc. is making against rival Intel Corp., Lenovo Group Ltd. is rolling out a line of desktop PCs with AMD chips.
