In 1947 Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, originally Children’s Cancer Research Foundation, was founded by Sidney Farber – a man who believed that if he worked hard enough he would cure childhood cancer.

Today DFCI treats 150,000 cancer patients of all ages each year. DFCI is involved in some 200 clinical trials and is a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
