Medtronic gets FDA clearance for blood glucose meter

MINNEAPOLIS—Medical device maker Medtronic Inc. said Monday it received Food and Drug Administration clearance for a blood glucose meter.

The OneTouch UltraLink meter is a wireless device that can transmit glucose readings of diabetes patients to certain insulin pumps and monitoring systems instead of having the patients manually enter the readings.

Shares of Medtronic added 87 cents to $50.29 in morning trading.
