NEW YORK—Shares of ethanol producers finished mostly lower Monday as the price of crude oil rose.
Crude oil futures for June delivery surged to a new trading high of $120.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, before pulling back.
Here is how some ethanol companies fared:
Verasun Energy Corp. fell 66 cents, or 9.6 percent, to $6.21.
Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings Inc. fell 42 cents, or 7.7 percent, to $5.01.
Pacific Ethanol Inc. fell 8 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $3.40.
GreenHunter Energy Inc. rose 50 cents, or 2.1 percent, to $24.![]()
