Community Health Systems VP Buford sells 12,000 shares

NEW YORK—A vice president of hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc. sold 12,000 shares of common stock, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

In a Form 4 filed Monday with the SEC, Mark T. Buford reported he sold the shares on Friday for $36.35 a piece.

Insiders file Form 4s with the SEC to report transactions in their companies' shares. Open market purchases and sales must be reported within two business days of the transaction.

Community systems is based in Franklin, Tenn.
