NEW YORK—Health care stocks fell in morning trading, as rising oil prices and financial sector concerns weighed on the markets.

Major indexes skidded in morning trading, with the Dow Jones industrial average losing 166 points and falling under 12,000.

Here are early results for a few key stocks in the sector:

Patterson Cos., down 61 cents to $30.96.

IMS Health Inc. lost 36 cents to $23.13.

Cigna Corp. gave up 53 cents to $36.41.

WellPoint Inc. fell 88 cents to $48.40.
