WASHINGTON—The Healthcare Leadership Council, a coalition of drug industry and health care executives, spent $260,000 lobbying the federal government in the first quarter, according to a recent disclosure report.
The group lobbied on legislation to reform Medicare, protect patients' genetic information and improve health information technology.
Drug makers Eli Lilly & Co. and Pfizer Inc., as well as drug distributor AmerisourceBergen Corp., are among the three dozen companies with chief executives on the council.
The council lobbied Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services in the first three months of the year, according to the form posted online April 16 by the House clerk's office.
