Among the earnings stories for Friday, Aug. 1, from AP Financial News:

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Shares of Innophos Holdings Inc. soared to an all-time high Friday, a day after the phosphate manufacturer reported it moved to a better-than-expected profit in the second quarter.

UNDATED (AP) -- Engineering and construction services provider KBR Inc. said Friday its second-quarter profit fell sharply, hurt by hefty charges related to an unfavorable jury ruling and its work on three projects.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Iowa Telecommunications Services Inc. said second-quarter profit fell more than 19 percent as it continued to lose access lines, long-distance customers and dial-up Internet users.

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) -- A continued downturn in the housing market led homebuilder Brookfield Homes Corp. to a second-quarter loss, spurred by a drop in sales and lower average selling prices, the company said Friday.

Cigna Corp. trumped Wall Street expectations with a 37 percent jump in second-quarter profit, but the health insurer's stock fell Friday after it lowered 2008 membership growth expectations and some income guidance.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Natural gas company Atlas Pipeline Partners LP said it posted a dramatically wider loss in the second quarter, after it terminated about 85 percent of its crude oil derivative contracts that it used as hedges.

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Utility company Ameren Corp. said Friday that its earnings jumped 44 percent in the second quarter on hedging gains, but its adjusted results fell short of Wall Street expectations.
