Tufts, Signature Healthcare affiliate
Signature Healthcare, which includes Brockton Hospital and the 150-physician Signature Medical Group, has become the second Eastern Massachusetts health care provider in the past three weeks to form a clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center in Boston and its Floating Hospital for Children.
Jordan Hospital in Plymouth, which serves a dozen communities in Plymouth and Barnstable counties, forged a similar arrangement with Tufts last month.
Beginning next year, patients who use Brockton-based Signature will get access to additional specialty and advanced care under the new pact.
The alliance expands on a one-year transitional residency program at Brockton Hospital that has been in existence since the 1970s.
The new clinical affiliation will expand existing ties in pediatrics, cardiovascular disease, orthopedics, surgical services, obstetrics, and gynecology, and build new partnerships in bariatrics, neurology, and cancer care.
