Veronica Eulacio, a 21-year-old college student born in Venezuela, suffers from Gaucher disease, a rare enzyme deficiency that causes enlargement of her liver and spleen. Thanks to Cerezyme, a drug made by Genzyme Corp. that she’s injected since she was a child, Eulacio is living a normal life, studying architecture at Ball State University in Indiana.
